Effective date: 12 July 2026
App: NiceSSH
Package: com.imtaqin.nice_ssh
Developer: imtaqin — [email protected]
NiceSSH is an SSH client. It has no user accounts and runs no backend of ours. This policy explains the little data the app touches and why.
The short version
- No sign-up, no login, no NiceSSH account.
- Your hosts, keys, and passwords are stored encrypted on your device only.
- We do not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data.
- SSH connections go straight from your device to the servers you choose.
- The app shows ads via Google AdMob, which collects device identifiers for ad delivery.
1. Who we are
NiceSSH ("the app", "we") is a mobile SSH client developed by an independent developer ("imtaqin"). This policy applies to the NiceSSH Android application distributed on Google Play.
2. Data the app stores on your device
To do its job, NiceSSH saves the connection details you enter. This stays on your device and is never sent to us:
- Host profiles — labels, hostnames, ports, usernames, groups, and tags.
- Credentials — passwords, private keys, and passphrases, held in the platform's encrypted secure storage (
flutter_secure_storage/ Android Keystore). - App settings — theme, font, keep-alive, and similar preferences.
- Optional session logs and known-host fingerprints you choose to save.
None of the above is uploaded anywhere. Uninstalling the app removes it.
3. Data that leaves your device
The only network traffic NiceSSH originates on your behalf is the SSH/SFTP connection to the servers you configure. That traffic is encrypted by the SSH protocol and goes directly to your server — it never passes through any server operated by us. What happens on those servers is governed by their operators, not by this policy.
4. Advertising (Google AdMob)
NiceSSH is free and displays banner ads through Google AdMob. To serve ads, the AdMob SDK may collect and process device information such as advertising identifiers, coarse/approximate location, and general device and usage signals. This processing is performed by Google, not by us.
See Google's handling of this data here:
- Google Advertising & Privacy — https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
- Google Privacy Policy — https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings under Google → Ads.
5. Permissions we request
- Internet — to open SSH connections and load ads.
- Storage / All files access — only when you pick a private key or upload/download a file via SFTP. Access happens at your request.
- Biometrics — optional, to lock the app with your fingerprint or face. Biometric data never leaves the device's secure hardware.
6. Children
NiceSSH is a developer/IT tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your choices & data deletion
Because your data lives only on your device, you are in full control: delete individual hosts and keys inside the app, or uninstall NiceSSH to remove everything at once. There is no account for us to delete because we never created one.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and publish the revised version. Material changes will be reflected in the app's store listing.
